How to clean the engine block?

Step 1: Keep the engine over a stand and expose it to a power washer or hot washer source to wash the dirt out of it.

Step 4: Clean the block with the same hard brush and soap to clean oil off car engine. Maintain a continuous flow of water to disallow the rusting to begin.
Step 5: Rinse the engine block from all the soap and spray a coat of lubricating oil over it. Spray it inside the holes and bores too.
Step 6: Dry the engine block using an air compressor and spray lubricating oil again.
Step 7: Put automatic transmission liquid on paper towels and use them to wipe cylinder bores. Coat them with motor oil and keep in a plastic bag till the time you assemble the engine.

- Don’t use too harsh and strong abrasives as they can damage the surfaces of the engine machine. Do not use scouring pads or steel wool.
